Mykonos in brief.
Mykonos is one of the best-known islands of the Cyclades, with Chora, Little Venice and the windmills standing out against the sea. The island is small, but its beaches, hotels and villas are spread across it, so it pays to arrange the ride from the port or the airport to where you are staying in advance.
The airport is close to Chora and has flights from Athens all year round, while ferries from Piraeus and Rafina mostly dock at the New Port in Tourlos. Summer brings far more traffic, and a private transfer on a fixed schedule spares you the waiting. From Mykonos it is easy to continue to Delos, Tinos, Paros or Naxos.
