Naxos in brief.
Naxos is the largest of the Cyclades, with long sandy beaches, mountain villages and the Portara greeting anyone arriving in Chora. Given its size, a vehicle with a driver helps if you also want to see the island's interior.
Ferries dock at the port of Chora, and the island's small airport has flights mainly from Athens. From Naxos it is easy to continue to Paros, Mykonos or Santorini.
